Abstract:
The commonly made assumption that a porous wall and the coolant, escaping through the pores, are at equal temperatures can lead to considerable error in calculating the thermal state of the wall. In this paper, equations are given for the calculation of the thermal state of a porous wall during effusion cooling without making the assumption that the wall and the coolant are at the same temperature.
