Abstract:
In a study in which ecological and civil defense variables are cross-tabulated, it is found that populations of cities that are relatively unstable, mobile, and immature are likely to display a potential for civil defense action, favorable evaluation of fallout shelters in particular and civil defense in general, perception of local danger and chances of survival, and a marked leaning toward civil defense when related issues in the broader context of national and international affairs are considered.
