The effect of a semifluid lubricating oil on a solid-film lubricant, when subjected to reciprocating motion under light loads, was determined. Initially, oiled panels showed more wear than unoiled panels but, at the conclusion of the abrasion tests, the wear on the oiled panels was less than the wear on the unoiled panels. Author
