The author presents a procedure which makes it possible to use the Bubnov-Galerkin method in the solution of boundary value problems for ordinary differential and integrodifferential equations when the coordinate system of the functions does not satisfy the boundary conditions. As an example, the author investigates a plate on an elastic base interacting with a fluid, as well as the problem of the vibration of a closed spherical shell filled with fluid. The procedure is described in detail and the findings are compared with other data.
