Abstract:
Seven rubbers, fluorinated rubber, neoprene ILA, PVCnitrile rubber blend, ethylenepropylenediene terpolymer, natural rubber, neoprene WRT and nitrile rubber, have been exposed outdoors in a stressed and unstressed condition on four sites - a temperate site and three tropical sites hotwet cleared, hotwet jungle and hotdry desert. The tensile strength, elongation at break and modulus were measured after 3, 6, 12 and 27 monthly intervals. The results show that ethylenepropylenediene terpolymer, Viton and neoprene WRT were the least affected by exposure to temperate and tropical conditions. Author
