The reactions of ClF5, ClF3, and ClF with an excess of H2 were studied over the temperature range 351 to 525K in a gas-phase-flow reactor. The activation energy for each reaction is in each case approximately one half the interhalogen dissociation activation energy. The relationship between reactive stream separation and similar gas-phase reaction is shown. Calculated values are reported respectively for the H ClF5, ClF3, and ClF exchange rate constants. Author
