It is shown by 5-nanosecond image converter photography and neutron scintillators that the neutrons coming from the plasma focus at the end of a plasma coaxial accelerator are produced by the mutual annihilation of ortho plasma vortices and not by the m o, MHD instabilities or by the symmetrical compressions which were previously credited with leading roles in neutron production in all z pinches.
