The general and stress corrosion behavior of Ti-6Al-4V alloy in Freon environments were investigated intentionally flawed specimens were examined to determine the ability of the metal to sustain defects on exposure to stress and environment. Freon TF and Freon MF were used as base environments for the study. Two thicknesses of solution-treated and aged Ti-6Al-4V alloy were used.
