The purpose of the work was to consider the effects of pulse interference on five basic types of receivers AM, SSB, FM, pulsed carrier, and FSK and to obtain analytical results which can ultimately be related to performance degradation. The report describes in detail the work performed on the five receivers, and to present graphical descriptions of the results obtained. The results presented for the voice or analog systems AM, SSB, and FM consist generally of the time waveform of the interference output and the total output interference power. The results presented for the digital systems pulsed carrier and FSK consist generally of the expected bit error probabilities in terms of the strengths of the desired and interfering signals. In each case, the analysis was performed with as few mathematical restrictions as possible. Underlying assumptions are discussed at length following each major analysis, and possible extensions of the work performed are summarized in the final conclusions. Author
