CORRELATION STUDY OF THE UNDERWATER DIFFRACTION PATTERN OF A CORRUGATED AIR-WATER INTERFACE

This experimental investigation examines the underwater diffraction pattern of a corrugated surface insonified by a warbletone wide band FM acoustic source. Sound field data is obtained using a variable-level correlation system to measure the pressure amplitudes of the first two forward and back-scattered orders. These measurements are carried out primarily for frequencies near those for which the various scattered orders fail to appear e. g. near the cut-off frequencies.
