Abstract:

The book presents fundamentals of the theory of creep and its development during the past ten years as a new discipline in the mechanics of solids. Principal attention is paid to high-temperature creep of metals and alloys. Problems of bulging and buckling of columns and shells under creep conditions are examined. A special chapter deals with the theory of visco-elasticity as applied to the investigation of creep in concrete and polymeric materials. Author
