Abstract:

Stabilization of polyorgano-siloxanes is conventionally achieved using ferrocene-derivatives but now more effective stabilization is ensured by using two new ferrocene derivs. 1,1 bis-dimethyl-ethoxysilyl ferrocene A and 1,3 -bis1,1 - ferrocenylene tetramethyldisiloxane B. They are soluble in polyorganosiloxanes at -60C and are very suitable for lubricants and similar silicon fluids. The increased effectiveness of both A and B as stabilizers compared to conventional compounds is shown in a table. Author
