The scientific achievements include 1 A study of the anisotropy in the thermal conductivity of thin superconducting films. 2 Thermal conductivity measurements over an extended temperature range of thin film sandwiches of an alloy superconductor between layers of manganese. The data provide evidence that the superconducting film is gapless near the magnetic interface. 3 Measurements of the temperature dependence of the surface reactance of lead films in proximity with gadolinium. These data have been compared with the predictions of the Ginzburg-Landau theory and the microscopic theory. 4 The start of the investigation of fluctuations above Tc in superconducting lead films by measurement of the rounding of the resistive transition.
