DETERMINATION OF A SHIP'S LOCATION AT SEA (ON THE OCEAN) USING THE METHOD OF CORRESPONDING HOUR ANGLES OF CELESTIAL BODIES,
FOREIGN TECHNOLOGY DIV WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB OHIO
Pagination or Media Count:
A new analytical method for an accurate determination of a ships location at sea by means of corresponding time angles of any two selected stars is proposed. The advantage of the method is in its simplicity and speed, as no plotting or knowledge of calculable coordinates are required, and the latitude alone may be determined without knowing the correction of the chronometer.
