An analytical study was made of the interrelation of thermal, optical, and electrical properties for the refractory metal tungsten and for the noble metal silver. Data available in the technical literature, together with extrapolation techniques, were employed within a framework of mathematical equations derived from Maxwells electromagnetic equations and associate optical equations to obtain supplementary data over a wide range of frequencies and temperatures. Thermophysical properties of interest included the thermal radiation constant, such as the normal spectral emissivity the optical constants, such as the refractive index and absorption coefficient and the electrical constants, such as the electric conductivity and electric permittivity.
