Abstract:
The report discusses means for practical application of approximation methods in finding a particular solution for differential equations for forced oscillations. A nonlinear differential equation of the second order is analyzed. The advantages and shortcomings of finding a particular solution of an equation by means of the Fourier trigonometric series, the Ritz and Galerkin variation methods, and of the iteration method are considered. A centrifugal torsional vibration absorber was studied as an example.
