This report summarizes some of the reconceptualizations of the task of philosophy of science. It attempts to demonstrate the value of bringing elements from the field of discovery into the analysis of the basic concepts of completed science and the enrichment resulting from unification of subjective and objective elements in science. The report contends that there is a set of teachable procedures that can be described as the logic of science that can increase the efficiency of scientific practice and accelerate the teaching of scientific methods. The reconceptualizations are particularly relevant to research designs and strategies and to the field of computer simulation of machines having human intelligence capabilities. Author
