Abstract:
During winter the reconnaissance of the triangulation points in a tundra was conducted by the separable method. Reindeer were used for transportation. Camp sites selected permitted two or three points to be reconnoitered from one station. Since a thick layer of snow smooths out basic relief forms and covers outlines of lakes, small rivers, etc., the reconnaissance of the triangulation points during winter is not recommended. A complex method was more effective and its use in reconnaissance and construction in this area should be utilized. Author
