Abstract:
Experimental shipments have shown that flexible containers possess advantages over others of their type in tare factor and shipping costs, both loaded and empty. Mineral fertilizers should be delivered to projected interregional river supply bases in flexible containers, practically eliminating fertilizer losses occurring whenever other shipping methods are used. Shipment, handling and storage of bulk cargo in flexible containers assures preservation of products, lowers individual operating costs and capital investment, eliminates the heavy physical labor of cargo handlers, increases productivity of labor and achieves overall mechanization of loading and unloading operations.
