This report briefly reviews the value of Decompression Conditioning in reducing the incidence of Decompression sickness in both deep diving and caisson procedures. Evidence is presented to support the use of routine workup exposures for preparing Navy divers for deep diving operations. A recommended format of workup dives is presented along with the recommendation for basic research to quantitate the physiological factors involved in decompression conditioning. Author
