Continuous oxygen consumption measurements have been made on two commercially available tungstensilicon type coatings at temperatures between 1000 and 1800C and an oxygen partial pressure of 150 torr in helium. The coatings were applied to small cylindrical pellets of Ta-10W. The coated samples undergo significant changes in properties if pre-heated in non-oxidizing atmospheres. Author
