V. A. Khokhlov Avtomatika i telemekhanika, 18, No 9, 1957 investigated the stability of hydraulic executor mechanisms containing strong feedback with an inertial load acting on the piston. Using the usual assumptions, Khokhlov presented an approximate derivation of the formula for critical from the cavitation viewpoint mass determination for a hydraulic mechanism.
