Requirements for operationally-oriented information based on geographical data are found throughout the Navy. An output structure for a Coastal Information System is developed based on types of high-priority operational questions. The flow of geographical data is traced schematically and three information interfaces are developed one supports the output structure at the priority level one integrates information flows at the level of the research, weapon system development, strategic planning, and operations the third relates the Navy information needs to the scientific community and other sources of geographical data.
