MUON POLARIZATION IN NEUTRAL-KAON(3) DECAY.

An experiment to measure the polarization of muons from neutral-Kmu3 decay was carried out at the Bevatron with counter techniques. All three components of the polarization were measured. The time-reversal violating component transverse to the decay plane was found to be - .005 plus or minus .019, which is consistent with T-invariance. The result for the form factor ratio zeta f-f was Re zeta - 1.81 0.50 or -0.26, Im zeta - 0.02 plus or minus .08, Arg zeta-pi 0.6 plus or minus 2.6 deg., if zeta is assumed to be independent of q sq. If zeta is not too strongly dependent on q sq., this result still holds true for zeta at q sq approx. 2.65 m sub pi sq, the average q sq selected by our apparatus. Author
