Abstract:

The solar constant has been measured by the use of Eppley normal incidence pyrheliometers on three different days at 31 kilometers altitude. After correcting the readings for the remaining 1 of the atmosphere, and the earth-sun distance, a value of 1.912 gm-cal sq cmmin has been determined for the solar constant. Author
