The report discussed the results of a series of experiments that have been performed to determine the effect of non-uniform concrete slabs on the gamma dose rate from a plane source of radiation. A simulated disk source 11.5 feet in diameter of cobalt 60 gamma radiation was covered by several configurations of a slab shield of non-uniform mass thickness. The dose rates were measured beyond the shield along a line intersecting the center of the disk source. Author
