Pagination or Media Count:
The KS-71 camera set provides automatic photographic capability and achieves high resolution levels with each of six different interchangeable lens cones. For day reconnaissance, focal lengths of .92, 1-12,3,6, and 12 inches are provided. A 4-inch, f1.4 lens is used for night reconnaissance in conjunction with pyrotechnic or electronic flash illumination. The frame camera has the capacity for 250 feet of standard base 70-mm film. It features a maximum autocycle rate of 10 framessecond, a focal plane shutter, 14000 to 1100 sec exposure time, automatic exposure control of shutter speed and lens aperture, data recording using a CRT, and either magazine or cassette film loading. The VH detector LA-246 optically senses the vehicle VH and automatically controls camera cycle rate and IMC rate. It is comprised of a scanner and a converter. The scanner operates in the IR spectrum to allow both day and night operation. It is also vertically stabilized to minimize errors due to aircraft motions. The converter features digital computation of camera control signals and yields highly accurate IMC. A three-axis stabilized camera mount the LM-120 maintains camera verticality and steadiness independent of aircraft perturbations. Cockpit control panels are provided for use in manned aircraft. Cabling to inter-connect system components is also provided. A test set permits ground checkout of equipment. Carrying cases are provided for all components. Author
