Abstract:

In group or organizational decision problems it is often desirable to combine the information derived from different sets of observations. Difficulties arise when there is some overlap in these sets, but the data cannot be sifted to identify the overlapping observations. This is one formulation of the problem that is encountered when we attempt to pool the probability judgments of a number of individuals with some separate and some common experience into a jointly assessed probability distribution.
