The gas-microchamber method has enabled man to observe in the electron microscope, living bacterial cells, their growth, the interaction between them that causes the development of clusters, and in the clusters the formation of minute particles that transform into bacterial cells. It has also enabled them to compare the development of irradiated and normal cells.
