A series of nickel-titanium alloys containing from 0.53 to 16.7 Ti were studied to clarify the high temperature behavior of this system. A survey of earlier work revealed discrepancies in the oxidation behavior of Ni-Ti, probably due to the presence of other elements. In this study the base materials were of high purity 99.85 Ni and 99.25 Ti. Kinetic data were obtained by noting weight gain during oxidation. Author
