Abstract:

Given the situation where there is a stockpile of n missiles and a list of m military targets. The value of the ith target is a known quantity V sub i 1 or i or m. The probability that the ith target will not be hit if attacked by the jth missile is a known quantity P sub ij, 1 or i or m, 1 or j or n. It is assumed that a hit results in total destruction of the target. The report considers the assignment of missiles to targets to effect the maximum expected return.
