Abstract:

The Institute of Automation and Telemechanics reports the development of a fiber-optical scanning device. The device is intended for optical scanning of a signal in the form of a moving dot. The time necessary to scan an n x n element surface is reduced by a factor of n by virtue of a scanning concept which consists of sequential scanning of two mutually perpendicular strips 1 element wide and n elements long. The time necessary to scan one element and one element zone is assumed equal because of the form of the input signal. The image transformer consists of glass fibers which are packed into bunches and arranged into a matrix. The control circuit generates a staircase signal which is allowed to momentarily pass through a gate where a coincidence between the clock pulse and the signal from the PM tube occurs. Author
