The results of the investigations described in the dissertation have practical significance. The conclusion that in the region M squaredRe or 5.3 x 10 to the -4th power the traveling magnetic field has practically no influence on turbulent flow of a conductive liquid through the channel provides a basis for calculating the flow of liquid metals in the passages of induction pumps using the formulas of ordinary hydrodynamics. The results of the investigation of k sub os have been applied in various types of induction devices that use a traveling magnetic field. The investigations of the skin effect of the traveling magnetic field open approaches to the design of measuring instruments.
