Abstract:
A pressure gauge consisting of a strain gauge transducer, an infrared decoupler and an amplifier is described for the measurement of time-varying pressures in the presence of an electrical noise environment typical of capacitor discharge systems. This gauge requires fewer electronic components, and is inherently more stable and linear than a previously employed gauge that utilized rf decoupling. The gauge can be statically calibrated, has a risetime of approximately 5 microseconds, and can be compensated for electronic drift. Author
