The report represents an interim statement on the third phase of a study of Arab-Israeli conflict. Coding and keypunching of all documents for the 1956-57 period of the conflict were completed and content analysis was undertaken on the IBM 7090 computers. Alternate scalings of action data were undertaken and completed as a check upon earlier findings. Attention was primarily devoted to the following three areas 1 improving the inter-judgmental reliability in the scaling of the action data, 2 development and modification of the theoretical model of the dynamics of mediated conflict, and 3 testing of the hypotheses in the model.
