Abstract:

In a macaque rhesus monkey secretion of the parotid gland takes place only in the presence of conditional stimuli or at absolute stimulation of the hollow of the mouth. Monkey saliva differs from dog saliva by the presence of amylases, high content of dense residue, nitrogen, highly active and reserve alkalinity. In the monkey is observed a much finer and wider adaptability in the work of the salivary gland, than in the dog, which is explained by feeding characteristics of the monkey and characteristics of its gastric digestion. In the working adaptability of the salivary gland, in addition to mechanical irritations, a greater role play also chemical stimulations of the mouth hollow. Author
