The report presents an axial turbine nozzle assembly containing movable blades with spherical ends, mounted on axes passing through a shielding rim and nozzle assembly body. The blades interact with a rotating disk through levers with spherical heads. To eliminate the effects of thermal deformations of the flow-exposed parts on the blade turning mechanism and on the centering of the shielding rim with respect to the body, the blade axes are set in bushings mounted in the shielding rim and the body. To decrease leakage through the end clearances and to fix the blades in the radial direction, an alternate design provides shoulders on the axes where they enter the blade. To provide reliable turning of the guide disk, a third design has the disk supported against ball bearings connected through eccentric axes to an intermediate ring mounted on the body with radial pegs.
