Abstract:
Tests and operating trials confirmed the possibility of developing reliable water-lubricated bearings for high-speed turbomachinery. The main problems in this case are the assurance of a high operating flexibility of the bearing in the presence of disturbances in the regime of lubrication, as well as the assurance of a sufficient vibration resistance during high rotational speeds. The assurance of the required load-bearing ability for high-speed lightweight rotors usually presents no difficulty. Of the tested variants of water-lubricated bearings for high-speed lightweight rotors the best results were obtained for tabbed bearings. Author
