An experimental investigation was conducted to determine the convective heat transfer coefficients for rectangular cylinders with various aspect ratios in air under atmospheric conditions. An empirical formula showing the correlation of the heat transfer coefficient with aspect ratio heighthalf-perimeter is obtained from the experimental data. Four models having the same perimeter were tested with aspect ratios varying from 1 8 to 7 8.
