The present paper is a sequel to one entitled The Multi-terminal Computer by the same author. Each terminal is an inputoutput teletypewriter linked to a buffer section in the main unit. An interrupt subroutine in the computer is initiated from the input buffer when new data are fed from one of the terminals or when the results of calculations are to be transmitted back to a particular terminal. This subroutine contains provisions for a delay and certain priority decisions to allow for an orderly processing of information by the computer. The time required for a processing of a problem originating from a terminal is calculated. The delay time for the simultaneous operation of several terminals is analyzed and the appropriate formulas are given. All derived expressions are valid for any multi-terminal computer system. The operation of an installation in which the IO terminals are arranged in groups is discussed and its advantages are pointed out. In this system several terminals time-share a single communication line and a single section in the input buffer.
