The accuracy of a map of gravity anomalies is understood to be the error in the determination of the anomaly at any point of the map, selected at random. The accuracy of a gravimetric map is determined by the error in the computations of the anomaly at the points of measurement and by the density of distribution of these points. This translation is a detailed analyzation of the problem of accuracy of gravimetric maps. Even though the suggested method of evaluation of accuracy was analyzed in connection with gravimetric problems, it can be used for the evaluation of the accuracy of maps compiled from magnetic survey data and in many cases a map compiled with the aid of a network of discrete values.
