Abstract:

The United States, Japan, and the major Western European countries are spending 325 million, or about one percent of the cost of our effort in Vietnam, to help the consolidation of the Indonesian government. In its foreign policy Indonesia is anxious to regain the confidence of the international community, after several years of trouble-making by former President Sukarno. Indonesia is attempting to reestablish cordial, rather than just correct, relations with the United States.
