Abstract:

Methods were developed by which an astronaut will be able, during an aerospace mission, to analyze water reclaimed from urine, fuel cells and dehumidification water, to determine if the water conforms to certain standards. This was accomplished by the use of specific-ion electrodes and special conductivity cells using standard pH and reference electrodes. Unique manifolding and circuitry were designed and integrated with the sensors. All system components were housed in a lightweight portable instrument case with easy accessibility. Author
