Pretreatment of rats with 100 mg. iproniazidkg. does not prevent the fall of brain and heart norepinephrine content produced by the subsequent injection of 15 mg. decaborane B10H14kg. This phenomenon is in contrast to the effect of the drug combination on rat brain 5-hydroxytryptamine. In this case, pretreatment with iproniazid does prevent the decaborane-mediated decline of brain 5-hydroxytryptamine. The results are discussed in relation to the mechanism of action of decaborane.
