Abstract:

Previous studies have established that the renal excretion of hydrazine involves glomerular filtration, followed by a combination of passive tubular reabsorption and tubular secretion. The secretion process has a limited capacity for substrate transfer and can be inhibited by 2,4-dinitrophenol. This study, using standard clearance methods, characterizes the renal pathways for excretion of monomethylhydrazine MMH. Monomethylhydrazine excretion is similar to that of hydrazine, its parent base, except that MMH possesses a lower reabsorption rate. Author
