Various approaches to the problem of predicting the refraction of bomb-generated waves were attempted and compared with refraction observed with aerial photography at Mono Lake in the summer of 1965. Although the observations permitted only limited comparisons to be made, it was concluded that ray theory refraction analysis techniques developed for progressive waves of constant period could be utilized for cylindrically expanding waves with fair success.
