A deficiency of the known theories of fusion is the use of a motionless frame of reference, in describing the phenomena, although in reality the boundary condition is expressed by the thermal balance of the fused element of a substance on a moving boundary. For its satisfaction a conclusion is made about the constancy of the arguments of the functions expressing the state of the thermal balance in the region of fusion. It is necessary to note that for the composition of the balance particular solutions, rather than general solutions, are used. In general, it is possible to compose a great number of particular solutions of the problem. Hence one can obtain the same great number from the differential equations and the problem loses the property of singleness. Such uncertainty of the method of solution of the problem impelled the author to search for new methods of its solution.
