The report presents briefly a nonlinear model originally proposed by the late Norbert Wiener for the characterization of general systems. Three procedures are then offered for the identification of any given system in terms of the Wiener model. Finally, this report presents the results of a digital computer simulation study utilizing six somewhat arbitrary systems which was designed to evaluate the various identification procedures as well as the model itself as a basis for system identification.
