Abstract:

Photooxidation of cobra venom by visible light in the presence of methylene blue resulted in a relatively slow detoxification of the venom. The gamma-globulin isolated from rabbits immunized with the detoxified venom gave poor protection in the animal experiments. Possible reasons for the weak response of the immune serum are discussed.
