The purposes of the test were 1 to evaluate the ease of field application of two flame retardant compounds to standard issue clothing 2 to evaluate the qualities of treated garments under anticipated extremes of humidity and temperature with reference to comfort, irritation or dermatological reactions, undue failures of treated garments compared to untreated garments, and the possibility of perspiration or light rain leaching out the treatment 3 to evaluate the amount of relative protection provided when garment is dry or wet with perspiration or rain and 4 to evaluate the life of the treatment under field conditions.
